PASTOR ALLEN WIDDOWS
We Are Here for You
"But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head." Psalm 3:3
In this life, we will have trials and tribulation, times when it seems as if there is no one to turn to. Be it an unexpected medical condition or procedure, the loss of a loved one, or even a joyful occasion like the birth of a child, we can be so overwhelmed that even the simplest things of life seem beyond our power. This is the time for the Body of Christ to reach out to help; thus, Light in the Storm Ministry was formed.
Light in the Storm is made up of concerned believers that have a heart for those within our fellowship who need help in unexpected or exceptional circumstances. They do not view serving others as a burden, but as a blessing, whether they are cooking meal for a family with a new baby, visiting and praying over someone in the hospital, mowing the lawn for an elderly person who has fallen ill, or helping a grieving daughter in planning a funeral.
Simply call the church office at (626) 359-5116 and leave a message for Pastor Allen or Aleacia; one of us will contact you as soon as possible. You will not be a burden to anyone--it is a blessing for us to help you through this trial.
Please note that we are not a benevolence ministry and we cannot provide food, clothing, lodging, or financial assistance--there are many excellent charities within our community that fill this space and we will be happy to refer you to them.
WHAT WE DO...
We will arrange for one of our pastors to come by to visit and pray over a sick or injured loved one in the hospital, or in hospice, as well as be with the family as needed.
There are gifted cooks in our fellowship that will be blessed by providing meals to a family after the arrival of a new baby, after surgery or during a illness, or in the days after the death of a loved one. We can even grab some groceries for you, if you want to prepare your own meals, but just can’t get out.
Many times during an illness, the chores pile up, causing more stress than the illness itself. There are servants who will cheerfully help you with the laundry, mow the lawn, clean the house, and any other chores that may be needed; we can even do simple repairs
One of the most difficult tasks of all are to make the arrangements for the unexpected death of a loved one. We will assist you through this very difficult time, including arranging for one of our pastors to perform the funeral.
